== Captain's Log ==

I have arrived at Starbase 400 and things seem to be going well. Today is my official first day on the job and I look forward to meeting my crew, pilots and officers. I feel like I know them already as I have been going through their bios and evaluations since learning that I was accepted for the promotion.

My initial first impressions are that this is a good group of pilots, but as with all positions, there is always room for improvement. Currently we are running 100 fighters, mostly Valks and Eagles. I hope to put in a request for 10 Peregrine fighters. While most of our pilots are transfers in from other squads or straight from the Academy, I would like to have some training fighters on hand to train anyone here on fighters... like Petty Officer Orion. Man, he could pilot a runabout like it was an extension of his mind. If I have an opening on one of my squadrons, I'll definitely make sure he is aware of it.

On a personal note, I hope that this is a new start for me. Dating lately has been a disaster and I hope to not just jump into a relationship... or the sack, just to do so.

Also, something very funny and ironic happened as I was walking to my quarters. One of Jana's songs was playing in a boutique on the Promenade. I had to laugh and will definitely let my sister know that one of her songs have made it this far out. She will be thrilled.
