Yes, the last few years with the 5th Group on Betazed were nice. The wife seemed to enjoy the shopping. I liked the peace and quiet. But I think I deserved the break dammit. I've done my bid for "king and country" in the last three wars, plus the wars we were never officially in. I have been to some nice Class M worlds, and some not so nice other worlds. At least I am at a point in my career were I can take Shawn along, as long as it was not a hardship tour in a dangerous place. If the old lady is happy, I am happy. We have four grown kids to prove our happiness. I really need to retire soon, because I am getting too old for this crap.

Now here we are, on a giant tin mushroom out in the frontier. But at least I know it is safe. 1st Division being there makes it safe. Plus 1st Group was in a bind from some damn battle with the Borg, losing a team leader and 3 operators in the process. I am assigned to Beta Team, under Chief Aquila, a household name in the Raider community. At least I can trust my boss. Now let's see what kind of trouble I can cause.
